Oh my goodness how time flies. I cannot believe that my second baby boy is one. When I was planning his birthday party I loved the theme “first rodeo”, so I took that and ran with it. Today I wanted to go through everything I did to prep and plan for the party and provide all the links to what I bought.
4 weeks out:
Start ordering anything you need off of Etsy, because a lot of this is personalized it takes time to get to you.
Find an invitation. I used this one off Etsy. You can buy the template and print it or screenshot it and text it to friends and family. This is what we did because we are all pretty casual & I feel like people tend to RSVP more.
I also ordered the balloons and a cake topper. For the balloons, I ordered two different arches and combined them. This is the first one and this is the second.
2 weeks out:
Order any other remaining items. I went to my local hobby lobby and found cow print napkins and straws. I got clear plates, cups, and silverware to go along with.
Order your dessert. We did personalized cookies that matched the invitation and then I bought Silas a chantilly cake from whole foods and stuck the super cute cake topper on it and it was adorable.
Will you be serving food? We had ours at 11:00 and so we served BBQ which was super easy for a large group and a big hit!
1 week out:
We were having our party outside so I made sure the lawn was mowed & everything was ready to go to have people over.
The day before:
Got out all of my serving trays and made sure I had everything I needed.
Cleaned the house.
Put together the Balloon arches.
Picked up lemonade and tea from chick-fil-a.
The day of was pretty simple just arranging everything and hanging balloon arches.
Other links from the party:
Stick horses from our local Atwoods for party favors.
